सुमनस वन्दित सुन्दरि माधवि, चन्द्र सहोदरि हेममये ।
मुनिगण वन्दित मोक्षप्रदायनि, मञ्जुल भाषिणि वेदनुते ॥
पङ्कजवासिनि देव सुपूजित, सद्गुण वर्षिणि शान्तियुते ।

Sumanasa vandita sundari maadhavi, chandra sahodari hemamaye ।
MunigaNa vandita moksha-pradaayini, Manjula bhaashiNi vedanute ॥

Meaning: Sri Mahalakshmi is devoutly worshipped by good-hearted persons. She is beautiful. She is the performer of great penance. She is the sister of Chandra, the moon, and She is of golden complexion. She is devoutly worshipped by Sages and their groups. She grants moksha, the liberation of the soul. She speaks very charmingly. She is the doctrine in Vedas. She stays in the lotus, and Devas pray her. She bestows six attributes such as wisdom (Gnanam), wealth (Aishwaryam), energy (Shakti), strength (Balam), valor (Veeram) and brightness (Tejas). She grants peacefulness.

मङ्गलदायिनि अम्बुजवासिनि, देवगणाश्रित पादयुते ।

Ayikali kalmasha naashini kaamini, vaidika roopiNi vedamaye ।

Meaning: Sri Mahalakshmi destroys the ill effects of Kali Yuga. She is lovable. She pervades in the Vedas, and She is the personification of Vedas. She has emerged from the milk of the ocean (cosmic ocean), and She is in the form of auspiciousness. She resides in the holy sacred chants, and She herself is the substance of such chants. She grants auspiciousness, and She lives in the lotus. Her feet are worshipped and prayed by the Devas.

Meaning: Sri Mahalakshmi is devoutly described by the victorious and the blessed persons. She is Vaishnavi; the power emanated from Sri Maha Vishnu. She is the daughter of the sage Bhargava. She is in the form of holy sacred chants and is effervescent in the chants. She is worshipped by the Devas and their groups. She grants the wishes of their devotees soon. She improves the wisdom and knowledge. She is the substance of Shashtras, the Vedic theorems. She removes the fears faced in life, and She liberates us from the sins. Meaning: Sri Mahalakshmi, victorious felicitations to Her. She destroys the ill effects of fate. She is desirable. She grants all the wishes. She is the personification of Shastras. She is surrounded by chariot, elephants, and people; She is worshipped by all. She has begotten the universe. She is worshipped and served by Sri Vishnu, Sri Shiva, and Sri Brahma. Prayer to her holy feet removes all the worries.

Ayikhaga vaahini mohini chakriNi, raagavivardhini jnaanamaye ।
GuNagaNa vaaridhi loka hitaishiNi, sapta-svara bhooshita gaananute ॥
Sakala suraasura deva muneeshvara, maanava vandita paadayute ।
Jaya jayahe madhusoodana kaamini, santaana lakshmi paripaalayamaam ॥ 5 ॥

Meaning: Sri Mahalakshmi rides on a bird (owl). She is enchanting. She has the holy wheel. She is the personification of wisdom. She placates the emotions, and She grants goodness to the world. She wears the seven swaras, the crux of music and she is the object of all songs. Her holy feet are ardently worshipped by all Devas, demons, Holy Sages, and humans.

Jaya kamalaasini sadgati daayini, jnana-vikaasini gaanamaye ।

Kanakadhaaraastuti vaibhava vandita, shankara-deshika maanyapade ।
Jaya jayahe madhusoodana kaamini, Vijaya lakshmi paripaalayamaam ॥ 6 ॥

Meaning: Sri Mahalakshmi victoriously sits on the lotus. She grants goodness in fate. She improves knowledge and wisdom. Everyday, She is worshipped by showering kumkum on Her, by chanting and by playing of musical instruments. She is worshipped with devotion and celebration through the chanting of Sri Kanaka Dhara Stotram, the prayer of golden shower composed by Sri Adi Sankaracharya.

MaNimaya bhooshita karNavibhooshaNa, shaanti samaavruta haasyamukhe ॥
Navanidhi daayini kalimalahaariNi, kaamita phalaprada hastayute ।
Jaya jayahe madhusoodana kaamini, vidyaa lakshmi sadaa paalayamaam ॥ 7 ॥

Meaning: Sri Mahalakshmi is reverentially worshipped by Devas. She is eloquent. She destroys the worries. She adorns the ornaments with precious stones. She wears the ornaments made of various gems. She wears excellent ornaments in Her ears. She is engulfed in peace, and She has a smiling face. She grants nine types of wealth. She destroys the adverse effects of Kali Yuga. Her hand grants the wishes which are dear to the devotees.

Meaning: Sri Mahalakshmi is in the absolute complete existence in the auspicious ‘dhimi-dhimi’ music of the musical instrument named dundubhi, and She is vibrant in the holy ‘ghuma-ghuma’ tune of the conch. She exists in the harmony of all the proper musical instruments. All the Vedas, Puranas and Epics worship and pray to Her. She shows and guides the path shown by the Vedas for living.
