Bhagwan Sri Subramanya,

You have embraced the daughter of the Pulinda Tribal (Sri Valli Devi who did tapas for you for long) and because of the hugging, the saffron of Sri Valli’s upper cloth got smeared on you. Your chest had reddish hue which symbolizes your attachment to the devotees.

You are the enemy of Tarakasur.

Please shower me with the same love and affection you have given to Sri Valli. You are the source of happiness for your devotees.

Bhagwan Sri Subramanya,

Your mighty arms had meted out punishment to Sri Brahma; Your arms had given support to the universe as if such supporting was a divine sport; Your arms had turned away the elephant (when you were courting Sri Valli); Your arms are Kaala Danda, the death wand to those who dare to defy you; Your arms had destroyed the innumerable enemies of Indra; Your arms are the ones which protect the world.

I shall always take shelter in your powerful arms; You are protecting the world.

Bhagwan Sri Subramanya, I hail victory to You, the inner blissful conscience
-whose abode is boundless;
-whose internal and external glory are omnipresent;
-whose form is the blissfulness personified;
-who is the ocean of blissfulness;
-whose relationship is boundless in love; and
-who is the progeny of Lord Shiva who grants liberation.

I bow to you with ardent devotion.
